“Turkish Flavours – A MUST DO Culinary Experience in Istanbul!”
I cannot say enough about the lovely Selin and the fabulous team at Turkish Flavours! We were looking for a fun team building activity to end our global team meeting and this was the PERFECT fit. My team includes people from the UK, US, Germany, China, Thailand, etc. – all with different levels of kitchen skills and dietary requirements and Selin structured the evening to meet everyone’s needs.
Our experience started by being met by Selin’s colleague, Taciser, who shepherded 13 of us by ferry from the European to the Asian side of the city, offering a great guided tour along the way. Her warm and engaging personality set the tone for what was sure to be a lovely evening. We then went via mini-bus to Selin’s home where we were greeted as if we were family. Selin then shared her own interesting story as to how she started Turkish Flavours. We really had to work together to help prep the meal, and no one was spared fair efforts to pitch in and get cooking. They clearly have a passion for Turkish cuisine and that kept the whole team inspired, working hard and having some laughs along the way.
We enjoyed the fruits of our labours at the end in sitting for a great team meal, complete with Turkish wines and beer.
Selin sent us all home with a cookbook of her favourite recipes and Turkish Flavours aprons – I personally can’t wait to host a Turkish-themed dinner party now that I’ve returned to New York!
Not even the unexpected downpour as we left her home could dampen our spirits – Selin and her whole team created a genuinely memorable evening for the Dawson Media Direct team! I would recommend this as a MUST DO for anyone visiting Istanbul – I feel like I now have extended family in that lovely city!
This was time and money well spent for a great evening. Our sincere thanks to Selin and Turkish Flavours – you are all AMAZING!!!

We did the spice market tour and tasting in the evening with a group of 19 colleagues.
Everything was very smoothly organized by Turkish Flavours. From hotel transfer to ferry tickets, completely worry-free.
It’s a great experience, combining an exploration of European and Asian parts of Istanbul with (street) food from both sides.
Literally the best of both worlds! We had a wonderful time!
