Get ready for a spice tasting experience that will awaken your taste buds and introduce you to an array of seasonings that have shaped Turkish cuisine for generations.
We will then enjoy a scenic ferry ride across the Bosphorus to Ortakoy, admiring Istanbul’s iconic skyline and waterfront. Ortakoy is a vibrant, picturesque neighborhood located along the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, blending history, culture and stunning views, known for its lively atmosphere.
We will be strolling in the streets of Ortakoy towards our first stop for a Manti (Turkish dumplings) experience in a charming, cozy restaurant. Here you will savor hand-crafted manti served with yoghurt, garlic and a drizzle of melted butter infused with sumac or red pepper flakes. We will then be heading to a traditional Turkish everyday ‘lokanta’ for a hearty serving of Kuru Fasulye (white beans in tomato sauce) paired with buttery pilav (rice).
Time for a traditional dessert!
Let us now indulge in Sütlaç (Turkish rice pudding), a light and creamy dessert often baked for a caramelized top layer, served in a traditional clay bowl for an authentic experience.
Last but not least! Turkish coffee alongside lokum (Turkish delight) or other small Turkish treats at a waterfront café with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus will round up our culinary Ortakoy food walk. This will be a perfect opportunity to relax, reflect on the culinary journey, and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of Ortaköy.
